“Dropped in for Sunday Roast. While busy they managed to accommodate us at a table for 2. A few menu items had run out but that was explained and understandable. Food was great but I would recommend booking in advance.Parking: Slope up from Car Park to front entrance but there is a rear door too.”

“Brilliant place to eat. 6 of us had dinner. Staff really friendly and helpful. Had three of the menu options. All excellent. Reasonable prices and good value for money. One of our party was disabled. Were able to leave small scooter in porch. Does have stairs down to toilets but staff kindly offered help.”

“Out of the dozens of pubs we visited on our trip to England, this was our favorite. The publican spun vinyls while we enjoyed our pints. The atmosphere was was laid back and the food was terrific pub fare. The decor and furnishings are classic and the apple pie was perfect. We could not have asked for a better experience for our last night.”

“We stayed three nights at the Bell Inn as part of our 50th year anniversary trip. We could not recommend the Bell Inn more highly. John and his staff made us feel incredibly welcomed. Our room was comfy, the food was terrific (do not believe those who denigrate British food), and the staff was friendly and attentive. We loved the atmosphere in the pub. JR Tolkien would be proud to see how well the place has held up.”

“We went for a meal as we were staying fairly close by. The service and food were excellent. A minor criticism was seeing the pub on arrival it was getting dark and it wasn't lit up and seemed near a bend. A light over the name of pub would help. Again leaving the pub there were no lights in the car park making it difficult leaving the door of the pub as it is or seemed to be very close to the road. Perhaps consider some low lighting somehow. But knowing that now we would be prepared and would definitely visit again when in the area.Food & drinks: The food was very good, I had a steak and mushroom pie and the best I have had for some time. My friends also enjoyed their meals. Thank you.”

“So, popped on twice recently for drinks and the menu and ambience seemed really good. Booked in and boy were we pleased. Terrific on every level. The staff were engaged, positive and helpful. We had the special- sweetbreads - they were amazing then the plaice again fresh and delicious. We will be back - our new ' best place' to go and to recommend to friends.”
