Shirley's Cafe

Station Rd, Severn Beach, Bristol

Me and my son went here today for a Mother’s Day brunch. The service was very good and swift even though they were busy (which is always a good sign!). I had the full English breakfast and my son had the homemade curry. We were very happy with the delicious meals we had. We had tea and cakes afterwards. The Victoria sponge was particularly good ? I thought the prices were very reasonable. The atmosphere is very friendly. The café is near the promenade of Severn Beach to walk off all those calories. The café is pet friendly. There’s a toilet outside in a pod that was very clean. The menu had something for everyone, but get there early as they only cook food to order until 2.30pm, but you can still get tea/coffee and delicious cakes until just before they close at 4pm. We had a lovely afternoon stroll afterwards, and we will definitely return to this lovely vintage gem in Severn Beach.

Visited as a stop over in our Motorhome,we missed Sunday lunch but they put us up a take away which was excellent. We played bingo, watched rugby and chatted with the staff and regulars who couldn't have been more welcoming. Will definitely visit again.

Never judge a book by its cover. If I had I may not of stayed. Glad I did. Food was lovely. I had the Moussaka and my husband had the steak. Felt like proper home cooked food. Even down to the knob of butter on the peas.
