Too expensive for the quality. The portions are much smaller and the vegetables inferior.

Everything about going to the Gardeners was great.— They accommodated a Saturday lunch booking for 10 adults and nine children at only a few days' notice.— They offered separate tabs when taking pre-order, and kept track of these for drinks and desserts on the day, making paying so simple without the usual faff of splitting the bill.— They put us in a side room which allowed the children room to run around without bothering other customers, yet it was open enough that we still felt part of (even central to) the pub.— Saturdays, they don't charge for each kid's main ordered alongside an adult's (bought) main, a happy surprise for the parents in the group.— The staff were throughly lovely, very efficient, and amazingly deft when navigating children!— And of course: delicious food and drink.Really grateful to the team there.

I feel a bit bad writing this seeing as it gets so many good reviews. We visited for Sunday lunch with friends and a dog. The pictures on the website made the pub and the food look amazing, I was really looking forward to a ‘home cooked’ Sunday lunch. The whole experience though left me very under whelmed. I thought that the pub looked very tired and tatty with ‘chintzy’ signs up on the walls placed since the website pictures were taken. It also looked quite grubby, as though it needed a good clean. The area that we sat in at the back of the restaurant was cold with a solitary fan heater trying to warm the space up. The lady who greeted us when we arrived (manager/owner?) was very pleasant and friendly and showed us to our table. The rest of serving staff seemed inexperienced and almost as if they didn’t know what they were doing. The food was ok, very good sized portions but could have been hotter. It passed as a fairly decent Sunday lunch but I thought for the whole experience it was pricey for the setting and what we got. Wouldn’t return.

A delightful Christmas meal in this pub/ restaurant. First time of allowing someone else to cook for us on Christmas Day in 20 years. All staff were so attentive, full of smiles , nothing was too much trouble. They glided around in perfect harmony and great team work. Box of chocolates all wrapped up and waiting on our table alongside a cracker. The 3 bird roast was excellent . Definitely book again .

Having been treated to lunch at The Gardner's Arms, Alderton I was impressed by the service, calm ambience and of course the food. I indulged in a steak and ale pie with chips and fresh vegetables. On leaving the pub dog rolled over for a tummy tickle and I obliged!

We were staying at nearby Tewksbury and came across this pub when searching for a dog friendly place to eat. What made this place stick out from the rest was the fact that your furry friends can eat with you as they have their own food menu. On arrival we were greeted by Teddy the owners dog and were promptly guided to a table. Our dog was given a bowl of water while we ordered food. There was a good selection of food available including vegetarian. All the food was delicious and made with good produce. Our dog also had his own main and dessert. This was hoovered up so can safely say no complaints from him. This was officially his first pub dinner and what a good one it was. 100% recommend a visit if you’re in the area whether you have a dog or not. We certainly would go again and would especially like to go in the warmer weather to enjoy the garden.

Friendly service from family run pub. Delicious home made food. I had a ‘small plate’ of chicken chasseur (was actually a generous portion) followed by sticky toffee pudding and creamy custard. Both were delicious. My friends were all extremely happy with their choices. Highly recommend.

Nice inside & friendly although one seat felt a bit damp, large portions but wish the food was alot better, fish & chips probably the safest option, roast was disappointing along with the house red!

We visited for a large family lunch and it was just perfect. Superbly organised, great friendly service, great menu and lovely food. Would definitely recommend and would like to specifically draw attention to how well they managed a large booking with excellent suggestions. A great find and super location in a pretty village with easy access from major roads. THANK YOU for making a big day a success.
