Called in at lunchtime for the gluten free fish and chips. Delicious crispy batter and lovely thick cut chips. Great that I can take the dog in too. Will be back.Have just returned to the Yew Tree again, this time for an early Christmas lunch. I had slow braised beef and the rest of the party had turkey. Absolutely delicious and gluten free. GF Christmas pudding was also available although I went for the white chocolate and raspberry blondie. Lots of gluten free options; coeliacs just make sure you let the staff know when booking and ordering. The chef is a star at catering for gluten free. ThanksDietary restrictions: Great for gluten free food - just let the staff know your requirements

I visited this pub for lunch with my family on 28 November, 2023.The beautiful old yew tree in front of the pub sets the atmosphere for this stunning place. The ambience , decor (particularly the unusual wallpaper in the loos, which were spotless), caring and friendly service and superb food made this one of the best pub experiences I have ever had in the UK. The day we visited we enjoyed chatting with the delightful and talented new chef who cooked and presented a range of delicious dishes - I will never forget his seafood linguine. The garden with its quirky 'giant's' seat is also a delight.

We go to the Yew Tree regularly as our local pub and the food and service is always excellent. However this year I booked our Christmas party here. I always worry about a Christmas menus, but it was absolutely outstanding! The food was utterly delicious. The service and customer experience was also second to none. Thanks for a lovely evening

We had a fantastic evening here last night. Extremely attentive staff. The food was outstanding (I'm vegetarian and what I had was really tasty) and as it's Christmas the evening finished with Christmas musical bingo. Great fun! Thank you to everyone at the Yew Tree and a big thank you also to the unseen hardworkers in the kitchen.

Lovely pub, great service, brilliant atmosphere. Very friendly staff, the food was top quality and came out about the right time. Had a child with us, he was very happy too. Children's menu was excellent value and great portion size.

Called in for lunch yesterday. We were the first and only customers eating but a salad, chicken goujons and halloumi fries took almost 40 mins to arrive. The goats cheese salad was lovely. My friend asked for some chicken goujons as an extra with the halloumi fries and we were charged £8 for them plus the £8 for the fries which is expensive. I was also charged £3.60 for a pint of lime soda and £4 for an orange juice and lemonade!!! How they justify it I don't know. The pub was also really cold. Sadly won't be going back.Parking: No parking. Try and find a place in the lanes.

Visited with friends, having not been for some time. The new team have a great set up, coupled with excellent food and service in a good old fashioned pub. Would definitely recommend and we will return, hopefully we won't leave it so too long this time. Thanks to all the team for a great evening.

When you go and stay in a rural village you are reliant on the local pub being friendly, serve good food & drink and an atmosphere to relax and enjoy. Thankfully, as we stayed next door, this is a place that does it all very well. An excellent and extensive menu that made it difficult to choose just one and customer service above and beyond. We went for steak pie & katsu curry if it helps you to narrow down your decision, my stomach is rumbling just thinking about it now.

Date of visit 6th October 23.A great village pub with a very warm welcome from the bar tender. Good range of drinks and a lovely menu with daily specials and deals on offer. We arrived an hour before evening food service but we were very happy to have a drink and relax in this nicely decorated space with plenty of character. However, the chef was there and having over heard us nattering, he came over and offered to open up the kitchen early. Such a kind and welcome gesture which went a long way to making us feel super special, inspiring me to write this review, not just about the great food which was well presented, fresh and great tasting but also about the wonderful customer service too.

Such a lovely, friendly pub. I had lunch today and enjoyed some delicious fish and chips followed by sticky toffee pudding. Our labrador enjoyed a few cheeky chips, treats and they even have doggy ice cream on the menu too. Our hosts today were just lovely, friendly and helpful. Heartily recommend.

On a long bike ride and stopped at this pub for a breather to find it closed. We both sat down on the bench outside the entrance for a break when the door opened and was asked if we would like a drink and sausage sandwich. What a surprise this was as very unexpected. Chris made the most amazing sausage sandwich and both had coffee ☕, was truly yummy ? and went down a treat. Have eaten quite a few times at yhis pub and it's food is always amazing, compliments to the chef, thank you so much. Would definitely recommend for drinks and a meal.

We choose the Yew Tree from previous reviews and we weren’t disappointed. We were made to feel very welcome, super friendly and very helpful staff and amazing food. Will definitely visit again when we’re next in the area 10/10!!! If you haven’t already visited, it’s a must.
