Billingsgate is a wholesale fish market for fishmongers, restaurant owners and others , but it is actually open to the public too.Prices are almost half of what you'd pay at a fishmongers, but to be fair, fishmongers do fillet and sell prepared pieces. Good to buy a fresh fish and learn things about seafood. Must go early (about 4am) to enjoy nice pices there.The Old Billingsgate is easily accessible by tube, bus, train, and taxi. Cheap priced seafoods in London, buy by piece , by kilo or by box, you will be glad to buy in bulk! Too many to choose from, we came at 4am, and amazed with the selections! Bring Cash!

My wife with Najwa & Atiq went to this Seafood Market at 5:00 am, and I obviously didnt want to follow. Apparently, they were quite late already, as the market starts business at 4:00 am!!But what a bountiful harvest did they come back with!! I was very plesantly surprise to find two fully grown lobsters in the kitchen, along with some huge prawns and fresh calimari...I guess tis' the time for seafood dishes this coming christmas...
