I had booked a lunchtime table for 3 for Thursday 29th Feb but one of us fell ill, this was not an issue for the Haven, which came as a pleasant surprise because some places get very irritated by a lack of guests and make their irritation plain to the people who do turn up. The food is very nice, the price is very reasonable for really reliably good cooking. The place is smart but is a very large room doesn't have enough atmosphere. Staff are nice, slightly curt-they were busy, probably need a few more of them. Attracts an older crowd.
Due to various factors we hadn't been to the Haven for a while but as we were passing we popped in hoping that they'd have a free table for two. The restaurant was half-full but luck was with us as there were two tables left. The Haven filled up as we were there so I do recommend booking if you want to be certain of a place.
