I like the coffee, bread and pastries here and find the staff friendly. However, I do not like how they are trying to introduce tipping culture with their payment tablets. Customers shouldn’t feel pressured to tip an extra £1 for a £3.50 take out coffee in East London. We are not in downtown NYC. It’s a major turn off.
Some of the best pastries in London. I come here a lot on Saturdays when Broadway Market is on and the staff are attentive and friendly even when there is a line out the door. Probably my favourite pain au chocolat in London but the coffee lets this place down. It’s always made in such a rush even when not busy, it’s always a bit cold or just not quite right. Given coffee prices these days and local competition I would recommend to buy pastries here and grab coffee elsewhere!
