Polarising food but very friendly service.Wilson's is a charming, traditional chippy right on the highstreet. The lights are always on and people are always in.The fish and chips I had was polarising. The fish was a bit slimey and soggy, with batter that was thick and un-crispy. Superb Fish n chips tonight. Unlike any other London chippies I know, Wilsons is super fresh chunks of white tasty succulent cod enrobed in a light thin batter -that showcases the cod rather than imprisoning it in a thick hard batter. Great place to stop for traditional Fish and Chips. Best piece of Rock-eel I have had in a while. So disappointed today 17/10/23 had a delivery from Wilson's through dilveroo. So shocked at the quality of the food and the price. The large Rock-eel was terrible, I would not recommend, the small cod was bigger. I could not recommend this restaurant on today's delivery
