Nice local pub with pleasant, helpful staff & good ale. It's also the only dog friendly pub in the area which, I think, is an important factor as pubs have traditionally been places where the working man could sit with his pint & a faithful hound by his side. I note that some have complained & assume they aren't dog owners. Who else would complain about a dog having a wee on grass - you've obviously never tried to interrupt one in mid wee...??? It's natural, it's what they do.
We'd booked a table for 7 pm, due to traffic we were 45 minutes late. They kept the kitchen open for us, and the food/wine and beer were very good. Friendly helpful staff too. Definitely recommend.

Heaps of atmosphere at The Royal Oak in New Malden. Excellent wait staff. Lovely outdoor seating. I'm delighted that this is the closest pub to a friend of mine who lives nearby. We stop in here often when I visit. As she was laid up this visit, I arranged for take out even though the pub doesn't do takeout. Very kind of them! We both had delicious fish and sweet potato french fries. I can't wait to return.
