Second time at The French. We loved our first experience in Nov 2022 and coming back again it was interesting to see the refinement of the menu over the last 12 months. The bread & broth is a great start to the meal, the snacks are well executed and the flavours of the main courses well thought out & delicious. I have no words. Well I have actually...Best meal this year.Michelin guide needs to get their act together. From the bread, ham. Salmon. Scallops. Everything was top notch. Great place to go for a special occasion or celebration. Chef came for a chat too. All round a fantastic way to celebrate our anniversary! And, what has to be#mcrsfinest dining room. Loved it!

We had the tasting menu with matching wine flight. The 'northern' menu is a bit naff but the food is excellent. The service is informal but friendly and pretty much faultless. And the room is, of course, stunning, providing the perfect ambience. Highly recommended.
