Not been to Armstrongs for several years since moving house but after a visit to Heaton Park called today for take away for five people. It was awful. Chips were not fresh and very scrappy, scampi was all batter, pie mediocre etc etc.and all just about warm. An absolute waste of money and the server was not very happy either. Have tried to call them but guess what the ‘phone just rang out several times. Used to be great but now ………… what a shame. Save your money...read full review
Unfortunately as a regular we were very disappointed the grease that remained on the fish was horrendous and the quantity of the fish was mainly all batter £17.25 for two fish one chips and two peas very disappointing

So it's been a while since I had lunch from Armstrongs and I must say the quality has really dropped off.The fish although freshly cooked it was over battered an greasy. The chips were funny shaped dry and nothing like traditional Armstrongs chips . Also I was very surprised that they don't accept cash payments . I recognise card is popular but some peeps still want to pay with cash especially youth who don't have cards
