Nice little pub in a country setting, friendly staff and lovely food. Wouldn't deviate from the Sunday lunch menu for my autistic son which I kind of understand but we only asked for a couple of fried eggs and toast which I don't think was unreasonable, was a nice meal in all though.

This place feels more for locals than for general public stopping by. Place is ok, might be really good in spring/summer.

We have been frequently to the Compass Inn. There is always a great atmosphere as it’s terribly popular. Just the look of the place makes you want to enter! The food is excellent and the staff are all so diligent in getting us our order asap! It’s best to book!

Roast Beef and Yorkshire Puds for Sunday Lunch - all of our party had the same thing - all very tasty. Particularly liked the parsnip shavings on top of the roast. Friendly staff too. We’ll be back soon.

Lovely cosy pub, dog friendly, we went with our baby and dog and was given water and treats for her. They had a busy lunchtime but we still received our food quickly The staff were all really friendly, especially Mandy!

We found this pub on Google after searching for dog friendly pubs whilst we stayed in the area. They are indeed friendly towards fur babies, with water and even a few treats available for them.Service was provided with a very friendly smile and accommodating manner. And then the food was delivered which were a couple of the best pies we have ever had, accompanied by perfectly cooked chips. The pub has a very local feel and I would highly recommend this place if you are in the area.

Recently changed hands and the place is much better. The menu is fab if you love pies and Yorkshire puddings, if not then there are a few other choices and some specials too. The pies are delicious. The yorkies are delicious too - all stuffed with yummy, hearty and comfy fillings. Two choices of pies - some from a local farm - some made on-site. We had the ones from the local farm and they were delicious. The interior is a little random and quirky - perhaps they will change this over time.

Food yummy. Service was excellent. Pity there were loud drunken bums not far from our table but hey, it's a pub ?

A lovely pub, beautifully presented. It was an early evening visit with lots of locals chatting. The whole experience was totally spoilt by the very loud inscescent beat music/commercial radio which seemed to be only for the benefit of the young staff behind the bar. Great pub. What a shame!!!

Great garden space, dog friendly, great service, food OK, only had a burger was surprised there was no garnish or sauce inside burger, but was tasty and came with homemade coleslaw .
