I have been a few times now. Recently under new owners. Menu has been renewed and slimed down. The food and portion sizes are good.2 courses and 2 drinks came to £41 I think it's worth a drive out of your way. Lunchtimes are really busy, but the evenings are dead, so if you want a relaxing atmosphere with not a ton of people, then it's great. And the staff are always amazing. And very attentive.
Our group of 17 Age Concern members chose this pub for one of our lunch outings......we were greeted by friendly staff and seated near windows as reuqested.....as we had preordered our food in advance it was served very efficiently.....meals were very tasty indeed and most of also had a dessert , agin very good.......my only fault was that the chips were not very hot at all !!!.. A return visit is a definate.

Visited on Saturday looking for a burger and a pint after a morning clearing drains and ditches. Burger was fantastic, 2 of us had a Stilton burger and the other a chicken burger. Thankfully they were pretty big as we were hungry. All agreed it was the best burger that we’d had for some time. Popped back in tonight as it was Curry night. Again really enjoyed it and 2 curries for £22 was great value. Will be back very soon.
