Reading Rd, Mattingley, HookWent for Sunday lunch. We like the LB and often return. Sunday lunch is nice but they get busy so the food isn't quiet as good as during the week.
The LB is a gem. Looking forward to next time

High St, Hartley Wintney, HookFirst visit to this curry house. Food was great. The meat in our lamb tikka masala and lamb pasanda was very tender. Side dishes were also good. Ambience was pleasant with a bizarre mix of usual curry house type music and 80s hits.\nService was erratic to say the least. We were asked what drinks we wanted before we'd even been given the menu. Poppadoms arrived extremely quickly. Then, waited ages to order drinks and food, ages for food to arrive, and ages for the bill. Plenty of staff, but no organisation. \nFinally, we were given the wrong bill, which could have been a genuine mistake. When the right bill arrived, too many poppadoms had been added, which made me wonder.\nSo, definitely worth visiting for the food as long as you're not in a rush.

The only disappointing one was the first gluten free option (gnocchi) we asked for wasn't available but another option was offered soon.
I would say that staff need more training on the difference between vegetarian / vegan / pescatarian. Otherwise all good for the meat eaters!

1A High St, Hartley Wintney, HookI haven't been to this establishment since the change of owner and name.No complaints as the food was nice and the staff were very pleasant. Service was good but It did seem a bit cold when we first sat down. We soon acclimatised to it or it warmed up I'm not sure? The ambience was OK but nothing super outstanding and would probably benefit from a less busy decor. Still both couples were happy with our evening so we'll definitely consider booking again.

The Cricketers, Cricket Grn, Hartley Wintney, HookGreat to see this friendly village pub open again under new managers, Michelle and Darren. Great range of lagers, beers and ciders on tap. Sunday roast is good. Will definitely visit again.

Sylvanus Restaurant
Elvetham Hall Conference Centre, The Elvetham Hotel, Elvetham, HookBrilliant.
You can feel the management have got it right, and the front of house staff were well trained & attentive.
Poppy took care of us for dinner, and she was lovely.
Jan took care of us for breakfast, and she was also lovely.
The food on both occasions was exquisite, so many thanks to the chef(s) and kitchen team.
The grounds are impeccable, and I had a quick chat with the head gardener Graham (or Graeme?) & he too was brilliant.
We decided to stay on another night, and will probably come back.

Costa Coffee
1 High St, Hartley Wintney, HookThe coffee is as expected from a large chain. Costa is my coffee shop of choice and this one suits my journey some days. The staff here are very helpful and the guest areas are always clean and comfortable.
