A Lovely 2 night Birthday Celebration stay ruined by Unpleasant events. We were asked to pay for Breakfast again after having paid for it at the time of booking! Apparently it wasn’t marked on their sheets.Breakfast, although Substantial, the Quality is pretty Mediocre!! Appears to be made from Highly Processed Food items! On the Contrary; Dinner was Lovely!!We had paid for Late Check-out on my Birthday, as I had an NHS Video Call Appointment after 18 months!!But the staff were Very Rude & said that we shouldn’t have been able to book late Check-out and that we MUST leave by 10am!! They were going to switch off all power by 10 am.Although when the time came; everything was Okay! The Ruined all the nice experience over the 2 days!! Very Badly Handled!!Late Check-out time is NOT Mentioned at Booking! One night (I) Google Maps Accidentally selected The Old Mill “INN”. This should be made Clear!!Rooms: Rooms were tastefully decorated in Period decor!Food & drinks: Dinner was Delicious!!Breakfast was Substantial; but Taste was pretty Mediocre, appears to be made of Highly Processed Food items!Noteworthy details: Don’t go to the WRONG Hotel (The Old Mill INN)!! Easily done on Google Maps!!

Came here for impromptu dinner as was staying at Homefields Campsite down the road (highly recommended). Lovely lovely pub, done up lovely inside, and lovely setting. Food was decent but it was the service that really stood out. We ate on Friday 5th January and the girls working were incredibly polite and attentive. Manager very friendly. Shame we were doing dry Jan else we would have happily sat all eve having some drinks after our food! Would visit again.

The food was exceptional and extremely good value. The staff were very friendly and polite and the young lady serving us at our table by the door was a credit to you.Well done to all. However, we won’t be back. We have never seen so many dogs in an eatery. Most were well behaved, not like some owners who allowed them to rest their heads and paws on the tables and were often seen feeding them from their own meals. A couple of the dogs barked at anyone who passed their table and it really spoiled what was a great eating experience. I did ask if there was a dog free eating area but was told that since the refit, dogs are now welcome in all area of the pub.If you have the same dog policy at the Peat Spade and Running Horse, which are both local to us, we will sadly be avoiding those places too. Our local village pub permits dogs in the bar area, which does have tables for eating at, but not in the restaurant. They are always booked up and it is a pleasure to eat away from the animals.

Beautiful country inn with lovely grounds with river. You can clearly see it was a mill. The harden area must be perfect in summer. Luxurious bedroom with everything you might need - fluffy towels, luxury toiletries, hair dryer, iron and board. Very dog friendly even provided dog bed, bowls, treat and toy. Beautiful restaurant and bar, big place where everyone can find their best seat. We loved the little nooks, so cozy. We had the benefit of Christmas decorations on display, it felt properly festive. Dinner was delicious. Staff very attentive and friendly. Location is great for New forrest.Rooms: Lovely room. We stayed in the other house and our room was beautiful. Big bathroom with bath and walk-in shower. Luxury toiletries and towels. Luxury bedding. Simply great!Food & drinks: Delicious food. Very good menu. Good selection of drinks.

A big thank you to Richard the manager who advised room 3 would be the best for our needs. I could not fault it. This is a real gem hidden away in Lymington. Richard and all his very friendly team could not do anymore to make us feel welcome. So looking forward to returning later next year to celebrate my 60Many thanks to all the team.Rooms: We had room 3 which in my opinion is the best room of all having viewed all seven rooms in the MillhouseFood & drinks: Food and drink was exceptional compliments to all the chefs that were on duty during our stay

We are a family of 4 + dog stayed in 2 rooms for 1 night. We really loved our stay. The rooms are quiet, comfortable, clean, well equipped and contain all necessary amenities. Comfortable beds. Friendly staff. The food and drinks in the pub are good and it is also very good looking and cosy. We highly recommend this place!

Oh dear! A catalogue of unfortunate shambles. Don't get me wrong, the two serving staff were wonderful and they had to inform us of the night's failures. Four couples arrive for dinner at 7.00 p.m. We get some drinks after a while and then we wait.......and wait, until a charming young lady asks what we had pre-ordered. Eh? No we hadn't pre-ordered so could we do so? We'd been there about 40 minutes at this point. So we order main courses and these are registered on the server's I-pad. And we wait a bit more, and a bit more, and the cheerful server returns after another 20 minutes to say they're awfully sorry but our order had been "wiped" and could she have our choices again. It won't be long she said. After 1 hour and 40 minutes we finally got our main courses. The food was mainly fine except a bit luke warm for the burgers, but the fish & chips were piping hot and tasty as was the duck breast. Satay chicken was returned as it was almost cold and the diner refused a replacement. Second server and restaurant manager for that day very kindly offered us free drinks and sweets which was much appreciated. We eat our sweets and then ask for the bill. A service charge of 12.5 % had been added which I asked to be removed and it was. The £40 deposit paid could not be located and we waited a bit more, and more, and more. Eventually we found out that the person in charge didn't know how to locate the deposit payment and telephoned a colleague who was probably at home so she could access the system information. Eventually the £40 was removed and we settled the balance and anther £30 reduction was apparently given to us. Prices are on the high side as is the wine but we didn't have any. I thought the two female staff did an excellent job for something not their fault so full marks to them. We finally left the restaurant at about 10.15 p.m having been there over three hours. It was an experience which spoilt the occasion but the food was pretty good.

We stayed here for one night as part of my husbands birthday celebrations. Had a gorgeous room complete with balcony overlooking the gardens, extremely comfortable and very clean. The Inn itself is beautifully decorated and looked cosy with all the Christmas decs up too. Food, both in the evening and breakfast was excellent. Highly recommend this place to stay, and the staff are wonderful too.

Had a fantastic nights stay and meal at the Old Mill. The room we stayed in was clean, comfortable and had everything you need for a night away. The food for both dinner and breakfast was amazing and the service was excellent as we were put in a quiet area of the restaurant due to me currently undergoing immunotherapy treatment for cancer it is safer for me to try and have distance from people where I can.We wish we had booked longer at the Old Mill to be honest, will definitely look to return the next time we head to the New Forest.

Perfect choice for a relaxing break. One thing I would suggest is that slippers are provided for your guests in the rooms. Such a wonderful stay with friends. Superb hospitality.Rooms: Beautiful rooms bedding was high quality as were toiletries.

We had a two night stay with our dog at The Old Mill in Room 8 which we found to be spacious, clean, comfortable and perfect for our furry friend. All staff we met were friendly, helpful and service was good overall. We had an evening meal and can report the food was lovely and served on hot plates, a big thing for my wife! Breakfast was as good if not better and I personally can recommend the 3 egg omelette. In conclusion, we left relaxed, happy and will return at a later date.Rooms: Spacious, clean and comfortable (Room 8)Food & drinks: Food was excellent although drinks in our opinion were slightly expensive, particularly the wine.

We stayed for 2 nights and will be happy to stay again. The room was very comfortable with a lovely comfortable bed and everything we needed. The large rain shower over the bath in the en-suite was powerful and hot.The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good with lovely fresh coffee.
