We were told the wait for the Pie would be around 20 minutes, the landlord explained it would be worth it. How true was he, absolutely beautiful. Now I have had a good pie but today this was an awesome pie. The pub was warm and friendly, run by those rare people we so much miss these days, i forgot to do a tip but promise to do so again, because we shall come back.
We took a visitor from Geneva ( a place full of culinary delights) and she pronounced the traditional Sunday roast the best food she'd eaten out in a long time. We were also all pleased to be able to have small portions with an appropriate smaller price, which is what most of us in our 70s want! That left room for some excellent desserts. Came here following a review about the pies. I had steak and ale pie with potatoes and veg. Pie was succulent and full of flavour. Very friendly staff. Pub had a relaxing, country vibe. Perfect for a rainy spring day. Will definitely go back.
