Pubs in Southampton

“A great pub doing great things. I love this place as it's back to traditional pub vibes. No phones inside, which is great as it encourages everyone to talk to each other and socialise. Isn't that what you go to a pub to do!?!The outside seating area is huge! Plenty of pace for your furry friend to chill and the kids to run around. Also a little play area. Very dog friendly and has a little car park. We normally cycle here, but have also seen people arriving on horses! ? Great team and good atmosphere. Haven't had food here for over a year, so can't comment at this time, but will update here when we do.Kid-friendliness: Lots of outdoor space to run around and a little play area.Parking: Small car park attached.”

“A lively and spacious pub in the middle of West End. On a Friday or Saturday it's always bustling. If you fancy watching sports then it's ideal. There's a good jukebox with a broad range of musical genres, a pool table, dart board, plenty of seats (inside and out), dedicated smoking area, parking and a broad bar with plenty of drinks choices and fast and friendly staff too. The toilets are good and the lighting and decor give the large bar area a cosy feel.Fun, lively and busy. Not tried the food yet....the Guinness is good though.”

“Frequently used this pub over the years - always been a warm welcome from all members of the staff and the locals. Food is always good and the portion sizes are enormous! Nice big open garden space with lots of seating in the sun. Pool table in the conservatory area and Jukebox has a good selection of music - yet to find something that isn't one there!”

“There's nothing at all to dislike about this place. Friendly and prompt table service although bar service somewhat inattentive and slow. The place was not at all busy in the weekday lunchtime that I visited. Good sized portions of food at middling pub prices. No issues. No lunchtime band (mercifully) - just low level music from the sound system that played mostly oldish rock/pop. Very much to my taste. In all, recommended and you won't be underfed.”

“What an amazing find! Best real traditional pub in the area.Sat down to sample 2 dishes off the specials board. A gammon steak and the pan fried sea bass. This was followed by 2 proper English pubs, fruit crumble, plus a bread and butter pudding. (NO STICKY TOFFEE OR CHOCOLATE BROWNIES HERE!)All well prepared, good sized portions of wholesome home cooked food.As they say “use it or loose it” a great real ale ? pub in a beautiful location. I will be coming back soon to try their Sunday roasts and more traditional homemade puddings.”

“Great food, good portions, and well priced.Staff are very friendly and the pub is very dog friendly. Disabled access is good, and with a few minor level changes, it's all on one level, including the loo's.The Guinness is well poured and fresh, absolutely no complaints will keep visiting.Vegetarian options: Great care was taken to inform my vegetarian wife exactly which menu items were suitable”

“Brilliant service, I know they’ve had a few issues lately but the staff seem in good spirits. I had a pint of old golden hen and a good chin wag with the bar staff. All in all nice ”
