The venue is beautiful. We walked into the pub and ordered cocktails at the bar, which we took to our table in the decadent dining room.It did take a left turn for a second, as they’d changed the menu that day, and we’d booked on the basis of the menu we’d seen online and the wonderful vegetarian options, which had changed. Had a superb roast with My daughter on the way back up the A3 from Portsmouth to London. Bit off the beaten track but a lovely building in a scenic village. Chicken and beef roasts were both superb, gravy amazing and charred cauliflower cheese was the star of the show. Friendly staff and good atmosphere.

I have been coming here occasionally for several years and have never had a bad experience... that being said the excellent hospitality I received from the team today (especially Elissia who was a super star!) was note worthy! Well done Thomas Lord for not only being consistently good but being better
