Pubs in Winchester

“Great vegan options, I had the ravioli followed by the ginger sponge with vegan ice cream, both of which were delicious. Lots of parking, incredibly welcoming and friendly/knowledgeable staff. Will definitely return :)”

“We discovered this pub on a walk some time ago, but understand it has now been taken over. Rang ahead and reserved a table for 4 for Sunday lunch. I had a very nice Sunday roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, my other half the lamb and our friends the fish and chips. All were good, but for me the starters were stand out, the Trout pate was just superb. Good beer on tap, nice wine selection from what I saw, though we didn't have any. The only criticism would be the slightly limited pudding menu, but that is being picky! Staff were fabulous, attentive without being over the top. Overall very nice.”

“Stayed at The Plough Inn for one night for a wedding. The staff was amazing very attentive and willing to help no questions asked. The Inn itself has recently refurbished rooms with all the amenities you could want. The breakfast was both continental style cereals, toast and also cooked options. Overall would highly recommend as it is in a beautiful countryside village with close connections to Winchester.”

“Came for lunch as a visitor to the city for the first time. The food is fantastic here, vegan food 20 percent off on a Monday. Vegan choices are awesome, massive portions of traditional food- pies, sheperds pie, fish and chips (Vegan substitutes). The staff are brilliant! Really friendly and personable. Would recommend.d”

“Great pub with a really good atmosphere and very friendly staff. The food here is not only reasonable but also very nice to go with it. The decor is funky and different, the odd stuffed animal and lots of clocks and a wide variety of different bits and bobs dotted around all over the large sprawling pub. The garden is a functional space with ample seating in pleasant surroundings with plenty of greenery to break it up. All in all the Black Boy is just a good old pub, I usually drop in for a drink if I'm down that end of town. I can't recommend highly enough. ?”
