We had eaten at the Padstow restaurant previously, which set a high bar. Winchester met the challenge. The menu was different, but the quality was the same. Excellent food.Service, faultless.A special thank you for the little anniversary treats, a nice touch to make our stay memorable.Thank you.

We had a lovely set menu lunch 3 courses for £17.50! Offer running till end of March. Delicious food, good service & all went down well with a glass of wine (extra)! Thank you.

The young waiter was great, attentive and friendly. I had the 3 course lunch set menu. Grilled mackerel starter. The tapenade with it was nice, but at a Rick Stein restaurant I would expect the skin to be crispy, it wasnt. Served on a cold plate. Fishcake main was also served on a cold plate. I was expecting to see some fish flakes in the cakes, but they were a grey fishy paste in breadcrumbs and deep fried. Where they made on the premises? Mustard dressing/salad leaf was good. Crumble dessert was better average. The apple & rhubarb was good, clotted cream nice, but crumble was a few pieces scattered on top as an after thought. The Cornish beer Doom Bar in a bottle which had been in a fridge for too long, bitter isnt supposed to be served as cold as lager. Overall a bit disappointing.

Unexpected day out with a friend - came across this restaurant and booked for lunch. Had great deal set lunch menu. Beautifully cooked and served 3 courses all for £17.50. Highly recommended.Parking: Used Park and Ride (St Catherine's). Stops outside Guildhall -200yds from Rick Steins.

He's always very expensive and branded restaurants are highly variable (avoid Marlborough), but the Winchester one is excellent and the service made the price worth paying! They accommodated our annoying needs with grace and even gave me a little brownie snack with Happy Birthday piped around it in chocolate sauce ;-)

The most incredible food, service & spicy margaritas I have ever had! We were absolutely amazed by the incredible service from the second we walked in to the moment we left. We cannot wait to come & try some other delicious menu items, I do highly recommend the oyster starter & the classic fish and chips. You can completely understand why this place was full! See you soon!
Can always rely on an enjoyable experience - marvellous!

Really lovely experience dining here with my friend on the weekend. Excellent service with great knowledge about the food and wine, and of course lovely food and drinks with a relaxed atmosphere. Definitely recommend!
