We gave this place a try for a Christmas Eve curry. Having read some of the bad reviews I wasn't holding out much hope but we were pleasantly surprised! Delicious food, all the dishes we ordered were authentic and had their own distinct flavour. Fresh warm naan bread and chapatis, good quality poppadoms. Lovely mango chutney and raita. We’ve had takeaways from here and they’ve always been tasty so we decided to try the dine in option.I can’t put my finger on what’s not right., suffice to say the dining experience needs a lot of work.I’ve never been in a restaurant where the tables aren’t already dressed. In here each table had the odd item placed on it, making it looked messy and uncared for. This is a revision of the review I originally wrote. Whilst the food was very good the service was very poor, unfriendly, unwelcoming staff. The table linen was unironed and didn't creat a very good impression. I originally said that I'd order a takeaway but I wouldn't eat in the restaraunt again, however having dodgy bowels for 3 days I'd probably avoid the Taj Mahal totally.
