On impulse my wife and I decided lets go to the Oak. Quickly booked a table on line and were there in 30 minutes. Its a very warm welcome from the fire and the staff. Quickly seated in the snug. Very romantic little room - particularly for a lunchtime. With curtains drawn feels very cosy. Very efficient young gents served us together with very friendly young lady. What a great team. My second visit and it will not be my last. I love this place....it is the 'local' we all wish we had - it is a shame it is a two hour drive away for us!! A country pub with rooms and great food; a fabulous ambience and a management team who truly know what they are doing and care about their customers. The real 'icing on the cake' are the people, who make you feel welcome from minute one - the staff are exceptional....so friendly, so much fun, offering excellent service . What a great pub.. we called ahead and they let us stay in carpark in our motorhome. The food was great. The staff very friendly and we felt welcomed by all the team.. we recommend the cheesecake ?
