The meal started with confusion on my part that Christmas meals needed to be pre ordered. This could have been in part caused by using a third party booking service the waitress tried to resolve the issue with Christmas meals being provided. Next time I will ring to confirm rather than rely on the booking service confirmation email. We were happy with the food and service. As a Shillington resident it is good to have a pub in the village serving food
Popped into the crown for a quick lunch and a desperate Guinness. Not wanting a large lunch i went for a beetroot and goats cheese salad it was delicious and the Guinness was great. This is my local restaurant and know the staff that are so friendly and even laugh at my jokes. Family and dog friendly.

I had a lovely birthday meal there and it was absolutely delicious and I’m hard to please. Highly recommend prawn in tomato sauce starter and seafood fish cake for the main, compliments to the chef! Staff were amazing as they always are.
