A quintessential pub that’s traditional and welcoming. Gary and his team make you feel at home and a superb place to watch sports too. There’s a wide selection of ales and beverages and the food menu superb. We always visit Pier Inn when in Cowes as centrally located.

Sunday Lunch - One word - Fantastic ! What a treat, my sister and I had the roast beef and my wife had the roast lamb. Great portion size but above all great quality. Succulent meats, roast potatoes were perfect, ideal Yorkshire pudding served with seasonal veg and cauliflower cheese, gravy and sauces (Horseradish and mint jelly). Service was superb, meal hot, and the pudding I just managed to squeeze in was an apple and rhubarb crumble with custard. What more could be wished for, my sister thought it so good she has already booked for next Sunday ! Easily recommend the Pier View in Cowes.

I have a mobility problem; despite it being quiz night and very busy the 2 members of staff who dealt with us went out of their way to sort out a table, necessitating moving furniture etc and generally making sure my wife and I were comfortable. Thanks ladies (you know who you are) for all your help, you made a difference.

For completeness I haven’t tried everywhere for Sunday lunch on the island but so far this is the best! Good portions especially of veg, cooked well not over cooked so it’s mushy, cauliflower cheese to die for, 4 perfect roast potatoes and two thick cut slices of roast beef, topped with a big Yorkshire pudding!

We decided to visit Cowes for the day and as it was Sunday we decided lunch would be good. Lots of places where this was on offer. We asked around and were advised to go to Pier View. We are not Sunday roast people but what we were served was amazing. The beef was cooked just to our liking as were the vegetables and the “Yorkshire”. The cauliflower cheese was an unexpected bonus and was equally delicious. No room for pud. The atmosphere was casual and the service was spot on. We can’t recommend this place high enough.
