An oasis from the madding crowd. Good service and good coffee as you would expect from this 'chain'. The space at the rear removes you from the hustle and bustle of the main street.

£4 for a takeaway hot chocolate that hadn't been mixed properly, so all the powder had congealed at the bottom. We were served by a somewhat downbeat gentleman who couldn't manage eyecontact, let alone a smile. Perhaps he was beaten by the workload, serving a queue that went back to the entrance door. A couple of people gave up and left, having waited too long for an average-at-best drink. Caffè Nevo again for me.

Love the coffee as I've always done. However, the lady serving needs a lesson in smiling and how to engage positively with the customer. Smiling can make all the difference. The toilets are disgusting and they were disgusting the last time I was in there. I don't think the sanitary bin had been emptied recently. Need to be cleaned on a regular basis not tickled. Ticking boxes does not constitute a clean bathroom. Get these 2 things right and you will be gleaming . Toilets and smiling.

Average cafe nero. Good toilets but staff were not especially friendly and not keen to clear tables even though not busy

The toilets were absolutely filthy Not one to complain but they were totally unacceptable They had clearly not been cleaned for a long time. Was horrified and wish I had taken my phone in to take pictures Please address this issue

Apart from the slight step into the place. Ut was warm and inviting. 3 stars for service as very busy and the staff were a little flustered. Good coffee and food choices. Will be back

We went in to the cafe Nero to have our dessert and a coffee. The restaurant we went to for lunch only had upstairs toilets! The Coffey was lovely but the caramel shortbread had been bashed about a bit before purchase. I would like traditional packs of biscuits available in coffee shops. McVities etc. must still make them!

Good coffee and comfortable seating. Had to use the rest room which was disgusting. Told the staff that one of the 2 toilets had a flooded floor and told would have a look. So short staffed nothing was done while I was there

Nice staff and great choice of food and drinks. Bit dirty upstairs though, coffee all down the chairs and rips to the seating. It's a shame considering how historic the building is.

Frapperchino was cold water not ice, lid not fixed on properly but contents was full over into the 'lid space' so it splashed all over my had when I picked up the cup. As usual the shop stank of off milk. I read that the coffee content in your drink only costs them 2p and the rest of £3.50 you give them is for the 'experience'. You would think they could afford a cup that can hold liquid and some air freshener.

Rude and irresponsible staff. Today, at around 16:00, me and four other customers were waiting outside this branch of Nero which was closed temporary. They had put a note: “back in 10 minutes”. We waited for nearly 30 minutes but no one opened it. There was a female staff member inside the cafe, who kept talking on the phone the whole time while she could see all of us waiting with children. This is really a shame for a decent cafe like Nero to have such inconsiderate staff.
