Good old country pub that has been modernised sympathetically. And loved the big open fires. Staff were lovely and friendly and there was a good selection of food on the menu. We had mains of belly pork and smoked haddock which were delicious. Would definitely go back. And special offer from Monday to Thursday.

It was very expensive for very little food. Vegetables were undercooked. Some drinks were served in dirty glasses. Needed to eat elsewhere afterwards.

Absolutely lovely pub! Staff are very friendly and they have lots of drinks and food on offer. The only things are that it would be really nice if they had some more vegan options available, and also the building itself is a little inaccessible. I'm visually impaired and have mobility issues and I tripped down the stairs the last time I was here. Otherwise I highly recommend it!

Very helpful and friendly. Chef waited on past cut-off time to serve us. Food was delicious and large portion for reasonable price. Will be back with dogs who were welcomed too.

Beautiful village pub/restaurant with character throughout. Staff were lovely and so accommodating to my 6 year old autistic boy. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was fresh and of a good quality ,well presented and tasted amazing. We left very happy and full.

Really disappointed as had read previous reviews and seemed to be a great place to try. Menu ok but portions and presentation very poor especially as prices high as well. Very average food I’m afraid.

Unfortunately the food was poor, very disappointed, we had not been for a couple of years but it has gone downhill or the chef had a bad night. Starters were tasty but tiny, three thin slides of aubergine and a teaspoon of chopped tomato is not a starter and it was expensive. Mushroom bourguingon was my choice of main, it was just fried mushrooms with no sauce at all and the triple fried chips were soggy potato wedges. Deserts was ok but the hand print on the top of the crumble was off putting. Sorry but it was not great. I did not complain on the night as a group of us were catching up and we did not want to bring a sour taste to the evening.

Food a bit disappointing. Would have been courteous (but maybe old fashioned) to server ladies

Food was ok.Cask Beer was off, clearly the bar staff had absolutely no knowledge of real ale or pride in how it was served. On complaining about it I was told it was 'supposed to be flat'. I suspect that the Brewers at Shepherd Neame would have been dismayed at the lifeless and stale pint of MasterBrew I was served - goodness knows what had happened to it. Apparently it was a new barrel, I felt sorry for the future customers who made the misfortune of opting for it in the days to come as they had no intention of taking it off.Lots of potential here but need to work harder on the basics.

We have eaten here a number of times before but the Griffons Head has severely deteriorated in standard. For a start the menu on their web site bares little resemblance to the one on offer. Secondly the menu they do present you with us substantially not available. At least three items were off even though we visited at the start of the evening serving. Mostly the food was well cooked but the fish and chips were inferior to the local chippy, in particular the triple cooked chips were hard and/or undercooked. Lastly when the only desert my partner wanted was not available. (two deserts were off of a limited selection) we decided to not bother with desert. They still tried charging us for them including the non-existent jam roly poly. I asked that the license holder be informed of my complaints which the pleasant young lady serving said she had done. Considering the litany of complaints made clearly to the staff in advance of our departure, I would have expected the license holder to come and apologise themselves but instead they left it to their two young servers to bare the brunt of my polite but detailed comments.

Chips were lovely and service was great but the only thing that was lacking a bit was the wait time. It was a great place and I definitely recommend for families but just a bit expensive great for a treat!
