The chef in the evenings turned out absolutely stunning food, all served by very professional staff.A good wine list is available, the rooms are as clean as a whistle and have all you want.A special mention for Luke who looks after everyone like their royalty, but thank you to all the staff for a lovely stay. Went with friends for Sunday lunch, lovely setting with a handful of tables. The food was excellent and we had 3 courses.The starters were really good, the mussels done in cider and chilli were perfect. I had the coronation chicken which was beautifully presented with a twist and thoroughly enjoyed it.We all had the roast lamb and beef which was perfectly cooked. The cauliflower cheese was delicious and could have had a plateful of that.Excellent service and incredible food.

Went for Mother’s Day yesterday. Had fantastic visit, great service and the most fantastic food the chef there is most certainly talented. Roast dinner was home from home. Will definitely be returning.

Great place to stay, eat and bring your dog. The food was amazing as was our huge room. The staff were super efficient and warm. Definitely come again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Dog. The members of staff were both professional and welcoming. The pub is super comfortable with seats near a lovely wood burner. We enjoyed a really good dinner and breakfast on the following day.Rooms: Room 4 was spacious and had all we needed the bed was really comfortable.Food & drinks: We thought the food was very good. The menu was imaginative with plenty of appealing dishes. The food was attractively presented and most enjoyable.

Went to the dog for the first time this week. The food was incredible, to the point we are still discussing how good it was a week on. Staff were lovely and were happy to help. Beautiful atmosphere and lovely and clean. We have already decided we will be returning and hoping to bring more people along with us to experience it. I had been to the dog before, about 8 years ago and it wasn’t great…But a client of mine works here so I trusted her and the reviews to take my Dad here for his birthday! My client did well to convince me as the four of us who went were not disappointed ?Absolutely amazing customer service, even dressed the table up a little for my Dads birthday and super attentive (just the right about!)We had nibbles, starters and lunch and our taste buds expectations were well met??Some reviews are saying it’s pricey, but the food we had was well worth the money, especially the size of the portions!Just to add my client wasn’t working this day… so no ‘special treatment’ was given, the staff were simply being their amazing selves?
