Authentic British pub worth coming to Britain for.

Even though I live a 20min drive away from The Haywain, I cannot speak highly enough of this wonderful inn. The landlord and his staff welcome you as friends and I have never had a bad meal here. The menu varies according to what is in season and the prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming with a log fire in the grate. Although I am not a beer drinker, I understand the selection is good as is the selection of wines at reasonable prices.Parking: Easy parking both at front and back of the innWheelchair accessibility: The main entrance is at the front and on the flat as is the inside of the inn

Excellent food, been a few times and never disappointed. Good selection on menu and specials boards. Not excessively expensive.

Had to wait 25 minutes for the table that I had booked, my partner had liver and bacon that was ok, I had fish and chips, disappointed as I could tell the chips were a cheap frozen variety , bonus was there was not many also a desert spoon of peas, fish was ok.

My husband and I visited The Haywain last night with our son and his partner. So glad we chose this pub for an evening meal. The place had an open fire and the radiators were on, very welcoming on a bitterly cold night. We had a three course meal and all four of us chose steaks for our mains, all cooked to perfection and very reasonably priced. The staff and proprietors were friendly and the pub has a lovely atmosphere. I have already recommended this place to other family members and friends.

A lovely old fashioned pub. Nice menu and good to see the chef in actual chef whites, a rarity these days. Lovely atmosphere and warm and pleasant staff. Hope to return.

The best Sunday lunch since we moved to this area two years ago. And we have been nearly everywhere from basic to high-end. Good meat, vegetables cooked to perfection, real gravy and Yorkshire pudding. Beautiful dessert too. And all for a really good price. 10/10. We will be back so to try the rest of the menu.

Our first visit to The Haywain and we are very much looking forward to the next one. We appreciated the warm welcome to an old world country pub. Cosy and relaxing. We tried the tempura prawns starter and lightly breaded whitebait which were both tasty and well presented. Our main courses of paella and duck breast were perfect. The prawns and chicken pieces on the paella were delicately cooked. The duck had the right hint of pink and the saute potatoes were crisp and light. We enjoyed the whole experience. Our compliments to the chef and the whole team.
