Had an excellent lunch here today with friends. We all chose something from the home cooked 'Winter Warmers' menu. The men had the steak & ale pie/pudding which came with mash potato & freshly cooked veg (a rarity today for a pub meal!) My friend had the cottage pie and I had the butter chicken curry. We will definately be returning.

We booked for our large family after reading the reviews left by other customers, and we weren’t disappointed. A greeting from a customer standing outside was friendly and on entering the pub the bar staff were welcoming. Our orders for food and drink were taken and we didn’t have to wait long before it was served. The food was delicious, hot, tasty, and well presented. We stayed here for 1 night to attend a wedding at Cooling Castle. The manager is fantastic and drove us to the wedding venue and collected us at a time we chose, which was brilliant.
