We stayed here as a family of 3 for two nights. We received a friendly and warm welcome up on arrival and were shown to our room. It was beautifully clean and had everything needed including towels, shower gel, kettle, coffee sachets, tea, milk and complimentary croissants. We honestly couldn't fault the room, every detail had been well thought through. There is the hum of the pub below but it didn't disturb us and i actually found it quite relaxing. The pub itself is lovely, again very friendly staff and patrons, we unfortunately didn't get to eat in the pub as ventured out into Folkestone but we would definitely want to return and try the food as it looked delicious. Thank you so much for making my birthday break a lovely one ?

From the moment we arrived we were struck by how friendly all of the staff were ,from the lady that took us to our room, the lady who took our food order, the guy who cooked it( hope he enjoyed Trivium! - if you know you know lol) and the barman who poured a very special pint of Stella. The food was absolutely the business and set us up for the evening ahead . The sea view room was also great with complimentary toiletries, water ( big bottle)and also a nice couple of longlife pastries for brekkie on the go. Haven’t been to this part of Folkestone for ages and it’s great what is being developed. The Ship Inn is right at the heart of it and we would highly recommend it to anyone who is visiting.

Stopped in for a drink and ended up ordering food too. Pate with toast and a side salad to start ( huge portion of very nice pate and a lovely salad ) followed by fish and chips with peas AND salad. Nice portion size, crispy batter, all very tasty. I'd eat there again

We had a great night at the Ship Inn, Fiona went above and beyond to settle us in and explain everything we could need to know. The room was impeccably clean and comfortable with a fantastic view and the live band downstairs were fantastic. Would recommend this to anyone wanting a centrally-located good value for money stay in Folkestone.

Nipped in just in time for dinner, dinner finishes at 8pm. We ordered the fish & chips & as they didn't have a children's menu, the lady behind the bar suggested the chicken bites starter as a main for a little boy, which was great as he only eats chicken. The food came out in good time, the portions were fantastic, very hearty, & the batter on the fish was lovely & crisp. The staff here were great, very warm, pleasant & extremely helpful when giving us directions to the old High Street & town. The inn is also in a great spot by the quay. Overall, it was a very delicious & pleasant dinner.

Lovely hosts and staff, very friendly plus helpful. We stayed there for a night on our way back to Spain. The room was very well decorated, clean and comfortable. The bar is traditional with very helpful and friendly staff. When we booked in, the fish and chips were recommended to us, so guess what we ordered later. We can honestly say that they were the best we have had on our trip back to the UK. Well worth having. The prices of food and drink are very reasonable too. If you are traveling via the Channel Tunnel it is a very short 10 minutes drive away. There is free parking outside the Inn after 8pm and also in a nearby pay and display car park. We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay and will definitely return next year all being well.

Having done a bit of research into possible lunch venues prior to my day trip to Folkestone, I settled on The Ship Inn, purely on the basis of good TA reviews. I wasn't disappointed and chose the cod and chips (£11.95) and a pot of tea (just £1.20). The service was swift and friendly and I was soon presented with a sizeable plate of fish and chips with an appealing side salad AND a choice of garden or mushy peas. The chips were chunky and not too crispy ,just as I like them and the cod was done to perfection being soft and flakey with and not over battered. Thoroughly enjoyable and a lot better than many a cod and chips ive eaten in fish and chip restaurants.

Popped into the Ship last week for a drink & the Fish & Chips. The Cod was first class a large piece of fish which was flakey , moist & very tasty. Good portion of chips & peas and a very fresh side salad . The price was very competitive & worth every penny. Well worth a visit. PS The Beer was good as well. Mick

Best Fish & Chips I've ever had- quite unbelievably good! Perfectly light batter, beautiful flaky cod, homemade chunky chips, tartare, mushy peas, thick curry sauce and lovely fresh salad- simply divine! Wonderful staff, very welcoming and friendly. Easy 5 stars here. Well done and thank you for the nice welcome. p.s. It's also really nice how they say 'thank you' to customers who are leaving. Will definitely be back!

Just been to folkestone Harbour Christmas Market and came across a little pub called the ship Inn on the harbour front. Staff very friendly especially Rosie, we ordered two sandwiches which were excellent and very filling and very reasonable price.
