“Popped in here late on a Friday evening with 2 of my kids and Grandson, 10mins after last food orders. What can I say. They all welcomed us. Staff, landlord and lady, chef and even locals. Thank you so much. Terrific food, beer and warmest welcome for a long time.”

“Absolutely love this pub/restaurant. You never have to worry that it will be shut for special functions, as a certain other regional pub often is. The cooking and presentation are both excellent, the menu balanced and enticing. The walled and fig-treed courtyard with stone sculptures and umbrella'd tables is a complete delight. The staff are all wonderful. It calls itself a freehouse with rooms but it takes itself seriously (with full service) as a restaurant. Our favourite establishment in the Weald.”
