What an absolute gem this place is!! Our first visit, we didn’t know what to expect. It’s in a relaxed setting by the river, with beautifully manicured gardens. The pub/restaurant is much larger than it first appears. There is an extensive range of beers, all served by very friendly staff. But the true diamond here is the food! First time here, I went for the salmon and prawn salad. I though this was going to be quite small, let me tell you it was not. The plate was full of salad and fish it also included new potatoes. The others went for lasagne, chips and peas and steak and ale pie, roasts and veg ( their was a lot of veg) they all said it was excellent. Compliments to the chef. Fabulous tasty food and so much on each plate - even more than we could eat. The menu is simple, and not much choice for vegetarians like me, but what you get is excellent and good value. The service was prompt and the staff very friendly. The pub is definitely dog friendly inside (bar areas) and out in the lovely garden. Would highly recommend.
