It had been nine years since we last visited Bistro 197. In hindsight, we really shouldn't have waited so long.Upon entering, the first impressions may not be striking, but ascending the stairs reveals a cozy and welcoming setting. Superb food. Went for the Mother’s Day special and the food was simply brilliant. As was the service. That’s before you consider how good the value is! Two adults, two children and drinks came to less than £70 and the quality is as good as anywhere in the area. Usually come for breakfasts but will be sure to return for the lunch and dinners!

Managed to get a table for 2 on a busy Sunday lunchtime. It was our first time at the Bistro. Staff were all lovely. Polite and really friendly. Natalie was our main waitress. The food was gorgeous. Had the beef and Stilton pie. We will definitely visit again and I highly recommend the bistro for the welcoming atmosphere, fantastic service and top quality food.
