So friendly, staff excellent, all with a kind word and smile even though they were very busy as it was New Year's day 2024. All 7 of us enjoyed our meals and the food was perfect. Nothing was too much trouble. We have been here a few times, and it has been consistently excellent .
We often visit this restaurant when visiting my father in law . The food is very good x portions are very generous and definitely freshly made . I had the cheese pie.. I always do it’s delicious . Father in law had the steak pudding and said it was the best one he’s ever had . Hubby had the whale portion of fish and chips .. wasn’t as big as he’s had before but still a good size We will definitely return

Met friends for lunch at the Waggoners. I ordered the medium fish & chips & was delighted to get a good portion of mushy peas, instead of the usual miniscule pot. The fish was delicious, but really the portion was way too big, I couldn't finish it, which is unusual for me. I noticed a lot of plates going back to the kitchen with food still on them. The food is great but the portions too big. It would have been five stars if it wasn't for the waste of food.
