Fantastic find for a pub stopovers. Local pub food in a fantastic friendly atmosphere .food all home cooked with super care and attention .prices excellant (free parking overnight) and locals made you extremely welcome with conversation and banter . Food isnt as good as it used to be and the service is ok till the end of the mains. I’ve been a few times recently and the staff aren’t interested after you’ve eaten your main course and it’s not even busy. Thought it was my imagination but it’s repeated each time. In fact they can’t wait to see the back of you and glare at you from the bar until you go. Not very friendly. No coffees offered. A couple of times dessert wasn’t offered either. 3 pub meals in 24 hours and another brilliant meal. Mouldy chicken for me. Garlic and herb chicken for the wife and fish and chips for my daughter. It was all fantastic and the chips are to die for. Ale was fantastic also. Staff were great also. A must go!
