Having been let down by another Darwen restaurant who cancelled our Festive lunch at 3 days notice, my friends and myself booked a pre-Christmas lunch here. The restaurant was elegantly furnished with crisp white tablecloths and white Christmas lights. The food was excellent, nicely presented and served with a smile. My Wife and I booked for Lunch on a Monday. There is something about Astley Bank that somehow transports you to happier times of yesteryear. One of the few places that has maintained the high standards that were once more prevalent. Beautiful moorland setting with gardens just showing the first promising shoots of a new spring, a promise of better times to come after a Winter that seems to have lasted six months.
