I took my mum for a belated Mothers day lunch and we really enjoyed our visit.The Sparrowhawk is a traditional country pub in gorgeous surroundings. On entering, there was a real fire roaring away in the harth, which gave the place a really welcoming atmosphere, and we were soon shown to a table by a friendly member of staff. We were given menus to look at and ordered our drinks.My mum chose fish, chips and peas and I ordered the homemade beef burger and I added bacon and smoked cheddar on top. Mine was served with chips, coleslaw, a pot of relish, and a salad garnish. We both agreed our food was delicious but neither of us managed to finish the huge portions.I would definitely recommend the Sparrowhawk for great food in a really nice traditional country pub.Parking: A large carpark to the side and rear of the pub.

Lovely place for lunch, been a few times and never been disappointed. From my friend’s point of view a few more vegetarian options would be good as she always has the cheese and onion pie due to not being keen on the other veggie offerings.Service has always been prompt and attentive without being intrusive.Parking: Not much disabled parking and sad to see being abused on last visit. People don’t display blue badges for fun so if you can walk okay, please don’t take up a disabled space, some people have difficulty walking even short distances

Amazing food, great service. We’ve been several times and every time the food is just heavenly, hot and freshly prepared it is beautifully presented so looks as good as it tastes.The staff are attentive and friendly and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. They are dog friendly too.Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for somewhere a bit special.

All the team were attentive to our needs and I am sure my mother in law had a wonderful birthday celebration.Thank you to all for a cracking afternoon.Vegetarian options: Super choice with three vegetarians sharing various platters.Dietary restrictions: Gluten and lactose free catered for with no drama.Kid-friendliness: Little ones were catered for well, two high chairs were readily available.

I emailed the pub about this, they haven't replied to me to try to resolve. We called in for Sunday lunch, we were sat at the back of the pub, in a cold room near the stairs to the toilet, there were no free tables in the main eating area. Our lunch was ruined. I'd have rather been told there wasn't any availability than be sat in another room by ourselves, greed over customer service, we won't go again.

A group of us came for an evening meal and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Food was excellent and large portions. Service was very good, looked after us and anything we asked for was not a problem. Its the first time iv been in and your pretty much on our door step its lovely inside with a lovely lit fire . good service and friendly staff . I had the cheese and onion pie and I'll say its the best pie iv ever had . I Have a food allergy and all food is hit and miss especially pastry foods but that went down like a dream it was amazing . we will be back . such a lovely place .
