Barley Ln, BurnleyStopped in after a visit to Alice Nutter. Cosy place. Friendly staff and the food… OMG was fantastic. 8 of us ordered a few of the smaller plates and a couple of main meals to share and were fed well. The prices were also great. After being overcharged for inferior food at other places in the area… this was comforting good grub that didn’t break the bank.Highly recommended!

Barley, BurnleyHad 2 nights stay at Barley Mow. Received a warm welcome and excellent service throughout our stay from all the team. Breakfast was lovely, great portion size ?. The Cabin
The Picnic Site (Barley Car Park, Barley Rd, BarleyGreat little cafe to visit after walking in the Pendle Hill area. The establishments staff were friendly and their coffees were most welcome after a long wet and cold walk. But the star of the show was chocolate pudding with custard, this hit the nail on the head and I was ready for another long walk afterwards, only kidding. Again a great cafe and I look forward to walking in that area again if only to revisit this cafe.

The Sparrowhawk
152 Wheatley Ln Rd, Fence, BurnleyI took my mum for a belated Mothers day lunch and we really enjoyed our visit.The Sparrowhawk is a traditional country pub in gorgeous surroundings. On entering, there was a real fire roaring away in the harth, which gave the place a really welcoming atmosphere, and we were soon shown to a table by a friendly member of staff. We were given menus to look at and ordered our drinks.My mum chose fish, chips and peas and I ordered the homemade beef burger and I added bacon and smoked cheddar on top. Mine was served with chips, coleslaw, a pot of relish, and a salad garnish. We both agreed our food was delicious but neither of us managed to finish the huge portions.I would definitely recommend the Sparrowhawk for great food in a really nice traditional country pub.Parking: A large carpark to the side and rear of the pub.
