Soar Bridge Inn

Thanks to Cecil who had a table booked, we were invited to sit at his table and trust the system to not interrupt his night. We ordered, waited only minutes and had the best English pub meal of our 7 week trip from Australia so far. Impeccable service and wonderful food cooked with evident passion. Well done team....you are The Dogs!

The Blacksmiths Arms
2-4 Church Lane, Barrow upon Soar, LoughboroughA truly outstanding meal.
First we shared the pork belly bites which were really moist with a subtle asian sauce.
Then my wife had the baked cod which she said was amazing - moist and tasty. I had the lamb rump which was tender (and quite rare which I like) with dauphinoise potatoes and asparagus with a really nice rosemary flavoured jus - fantastic fresh flavours.
After the desserts, they offered some interesting after dinner cocktails including a Baby Guiness (Kahlua topped with Bailey's) for a very reasonable £4.
The staff were all friendly and attentive.
The music was laid back and not too loud.
Overall a very enjoyable experience.

The Greyhound Inn
25 Melton Rd, Burton on the Wolds, LoughboroughFirst time here for a meal and not disappointed. the food was good, as was the apple pie and custard. Look like a good selection of drinks, but I only had a soft drink as I was driving. Friendly and very polite staff. Will definitely go back.

Istanbul Barbecue Barrow
28 High St, Barrow upon Soar, LoughboroughIstanbul accommodated a party of 22 for my family today. The occasion was a tombstone unveiling for my Mum, who loved Turkish food. Her nearest and dearest where there and all agreed, she would've loved it. Everything was on point. We thank you for you service, and as far as the food goes, what's better than number 1? We'll be back for sure.
