The Secret Garden Cafe

After doing the "Well Being" walk, set up by Charnwood Borough Council, we visit the Secret Garden Cafe. It's a small family business that has a good range of hot and cold food and drink at reasonable prices. There is a small patio area outside the restaurant with benches, tables, and parasols. In a grassed area, more seating and tables are available. There is even a marquee for when the weather changes. Why don't you give them a visit?

The Blacksmiths Arms

Went on a Friday evening and was warmly greeted at the door. All evening the staff were great, helpful and knowledgeable. Food came in good time and we were really well attended too. Starters (scallops and chicken) and desert (sticky toffee pudding) were superb, really tasty and good portion sizes. Only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars was the mains slightly disappointed. Chicken burger was pretty avg and a little dry. Sea bass was over cooked and the crushed potatoes it came with were dry. We would definitely go back and try something different next time though, the place as a whole is lovely and great for both groups and couples.

Soar Bridge Inn

We went for a surprise 50th party, private dos are in what looks like to be the old skittle room as it was long and narrow. Fit easily 50 people in, which gave a good atmosphere. The bar and toilets are a short walk from the function room.Staff were friendly,If you're looking for a function room I would recommend.

Had many takeaways from Istanbul bbq Food is so delicious cannot fault it, but the last three takeaways we have ordered they have not brought our drinks ,when phoned was told they will take money off next order which doesn't happen as we order online . So tonight our order arrived no drinks again and sauces missing rang to advise, was told again they will take money off next order said not happy with that was then told drinks will arrive in an hour two hours later still waiting ! Shame as like I said can't fault the quality of food.Must say person I spoke to wasn't too bothered ?
