A recent change of management has resulted in my using of this firm old favourite of a pub once again. Its a good chance I am the Victor Meldrew mentioned in another recent review and explains why I find the new team (well some previous staff as new tenants) so agreeable, with an absolute no quibble approach to the quality of their proposition. The small selection of real ale ensures tip top freshness, clarity and taste. A good mix of other drinks at sensible prices. Fresh fish & chips weds, with burgers & bits friday. Closed Tuesday. A great place on a cold night or wet weekend, in fact great at any time. So glad to see the Do-Dahs are firmly back in place.

Dropped in for a burger last night. Cracking job, full of flavour and topped with real cheese, an improvement introduced by the new landlord and landlady. Tried the fish and chips on the previous Wednesday which were as good as I’ve tasted. The beer has improved too as has the atmosphere which is that of a friendly, well-run, dog-friendly local hostelry. If you’re in locality give it a try. You won’t be disappointed.

New Landlady. Excellent Beer (the bitter is fantastically well kept which is sadly a novelty in this day and age) and snack selection. Proper Boozer for drinkers in a beautifully nostalgic building, in a pretty, tucked away part of the world. Even has its very own "Victor Meldrew" lurking in the corner. Bang on!

This has recently changed hands, (10/23) with the new owners looking to add a new food menu along with a possible reinstatement of the previously successful beer and cider festival.

Nice friendly pub, but no food being served, and apparently hadn't served for days

This pub is a disgrace. I have not been in this pub for years and çertainly not since new owner have had it. Today a great freind of mine family had his wake at this pub. I went in to the bar and was about to ask for a pint and was told by landlord Simon you are not getting a drink here you are barred. I àsked him why and he didn't know. So embarrassed about this didn't want to make a deal of this but without an explanation to why I was barred, unreal they are not what they seem stay clear. Face fits ect.

Great little village Pub. Simon the landlord keeps the beer in tip top condition. He is so much better than the last one who ran it into the ground.
Wow. An awesome sunday lunch, well worth a visit. Great beer

Wonderful hidden gem, Amanda and the rest of the staff were polite, professional and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Well done! The 3 course roast was lovely, highlight for me was the main.... Roast beef ?
