The Stag Barkston
Church St, Barkston, GranthamSunday lunch for a table of five. Starters were fantastic and portion size was very generous. Roasts and Sunday menu was perfectly balanced with fish and vegetarian options. Meats were well cooked and the steak pur was crammed full of meat. Fish and chips was fresh, crisp and accompanied by fresh mushy peas.Overall the food was divine and we will be going back for sure. Staff were attentive and friendly. Busy little place but warm and friendly. Bar prices are what's to be expected and a great selection on offer.Vegetarian options: 2 options on the specials boa4d and one on the menu. 3 cheese cauliflower bake was creamy and tasty.

Blue Dog Inn
46 Main St, Sewstern, GranthamA recent change of management has resulted in my using of this firm old favourite of a pub once again. Its a good chance I am the Victor Meldrew mentioned in another recent review and explains why I find the new team (well some previous staff as new tenants) so agreeable, with an absolute no quibble approach to the quality of their proposition. The small selection of real ale ensures tip top freshness, clarity and taste. A good mix of other drinks at sensible prices. Fresh fish & chips weds, with burgers & bits friday. Closed Tuesday. A great place on a cold night or wet weekend, in fact great at any time. So glad to see the Do-Dahs are firmly back in place.

Belton House Stables Cafe
High Rd, Belton, GranthamOur second visit to the café this year. Staff have been really cheerful and helpful. We sat inside the stables on our first visit, and outside on our second as we had a dog with us. Not a huge selection of food, but enough of a choice including vegie and vegan. Very quick delivery. Free water available and dog bowls for thirsty k9s. Only slight issue is that the menus are only available on chalkboards in the till area. So we took photos of them to make it easier. Recommended ?Vegetarian options: Several Vegie and Vegan options available. Apparently the spicy cauliflower pasty is recommended.Parking: Plenty of on site parking, close to the adventure playground.
