The Stag Barkston
Church St, Barkston, GranthamWe chose this pub to have dinner purely on the decision that it takes dogs and our expectations were not particularly high. However we were so wrong. The food choices were unusual and interesting. There were 6 of us and we all chose something different- every meal was delicious and cooked to perfection - home made and fresh. I had the vegetarian Wellington which was butternut squash, lentils and almonds which was amazing. My husband had the steak pie and said it was one of the best he’d had. The desserts were homemade too and we all ate more than we should have. Combine all that with friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere and there’s little else you could want.
My only problem is that we don’t live nearer!

The Wheel Inn
Main St, Branston, GranthamWe went to a 50th wedding anniversary celebration yesterday(25th April) of my partners sister and brother in law.Venue was spot on! Staff amazing, friendly and just lovely! Food...brilliant! Set chosen three course menu. Starters lovely..The steak was cooked to perfection and the salmon and sauce gorgeous! The sweets presented beautifully and the cheese board could have been for two! It's the first time we've been and a bit 'out of county' for us which is our loss but we both highly recommend this lovely pub with gorgeous ambience to everyone and we will certainly meet up with our family there again. A jewel in a lovely location. Huge thank you to you all

Blue Dog Inn
46 Main St, Sewstern, GranthamA recent change of management has resulted in my using of this firm old favourite of a pub once again. Its a good chance I am the Victor Meldrew mentioned in another recent review and explains why I find the new team (well some previous staff as new tenants) so agreeable, with an absolute no quibble approach to the quality of their proposition. The small selection of real ale ensures tip top freshness, clarity and taste. A good mix of other drinks at sensible prices. Fresh fish & chips weds, with burgers & bits friday. Closed Tuesday. A great place on a cold night or wet weekend, in fact great at any time. So glad to see the Do-Dahs are firmly back in place.

Belton Woods Restaurant
Belton Woods Hotel, Belton, GranthamMy wife and I stayed here last weekend after a charity ball. We had the best time . Helpful friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble, great night. Then, next morning, I had the full English breakfast, and I can honestly say perfection. How many hotels do you go to and you are plated up wet watery bacon, not here, perfectly crispy, just right. Everything on my plate was perfect. Set me up for my busy day. I did ask who cooked this and was told head chef Silvia. Hat's off to Silvia. You truly know what you are doing in that kitchen. 100 out of 10.
5 star service from Silvia.
Watch out Gordon Ramsey.
