Lovely pub, great selection of ales, nice friendly atmosphere in a handy location a short walk from the cathedral but away from the main tourist routes. Main draw is a superb beer garden, beautiful in sunny weather.
A lovely traditional pub, perhaps the best in the city. Good traditional ales. Often possible to park close by. They no longer offer food so that hasn't been given a rating.Parking: Often possible to park on the street for free but there is a pay car park opposite.

Went for a friend's leaving do, and whilst I'd been past the Morning Star before, I'd never been in.Nice pint, polite service and a very chilled atmosphere. Felt like a very modern (yet traditional) real ale pub. Liked it a lot.
