I went there for a beer and it was fun. The owner is very welcoming and we immediately started talking.This pub is very cozy and due to its age, it has a unique charm.I've been to pubs in Liverpool quite a few times but this is the best.
I meant to write this months ago, when I visited Liverpool end of September. Hands down my favorite pub in the city. Tucked away on a side street, it's a pleasant place to escape the hustle bustle of the city. Friendly staff pouring great pints, with plenty of locals to talk to. I had the luck of meeting the owner the first day in town, and he gave me a great welcome. Port and Stilton on the house, and a great laugh with the regulars. I've never felt so welcome in a pub. A proper pub. Everyone was being warmly welcomed by the owner who we got chatting to for a bit. Great character to match a pub with well kept ales and charming decor. Only had 2 days in Liverpool but came back the 2nd day for more of the same. A bit of history and a touch of class. Great stuff!
