This was our second visit. The first time we went was a Wednesday evening and the restaurant was full, great atmosphere and delicious food!
We went again on a Monday lunchtime. It was a lot quieter obviously, but the food was just as tasty! The staff were great on both occasions!

From an inspired start and memorable ending, there was a lack of distinction in the middle of our lunch that fell short of our expectations for a 3 Michelin star meal.\n\nAs with the best movies, books and TV series, all characters have a distinctive voice and identity. The same could perhaps be said to be true of a very good dining experience. Each dish having its own impact and lasting memory on the pallette, that in turn prepares the way for the next dish through to a satisfying conclusion.\n\nOur lunch started with a series of individual bite sized amuse dishes: cured chalk stream trout; mushroom parcel; alderman peas with calamint and cornflower (exceptional), and smoked eel with fermented garlic. \n\nThe latter two served during and after a very informative and enjoyable guided tour of the vegetable gardens and kitchen, boasting sixteen chefs with a similar number of people attending to service.\n\nHaving been seated in the airy and well lit dining room, our lunch started with a very disappointing Paris market carrots with sea buckthorn. An underwhelming start with a lack of conviction in the flavours. That dish was followed by an equally uninspired beetroot with mustard and shallots. Well presented but, again, a lack of character or flavour to make it stand out.\n\nOur experience certainly started to change with the main courses. \n\nThe lamb with artichoke, girolle and anchovy ragout was tender and beautifully judged. My monkfish was good although a little undercooked; the ragout made up that with it's delicate and rewarding aftertaste.\n\nAs for dessert, the team in the kitchen knocked it out of the park! First up was a truly delicious gingerbread ice cream with roots and pine: earthy, tangy and more ish. This was swiftly followed by merchant cherries with muscovado and woodruff; a delicate blend of tart berry fruits and creamy mousse.\n\nTo round our lunch off, we had some coffees in the lounge with an excellent and carefully considered selection of petit fours.\n\nWhoever the pastry chef is at Moor Hall deserves a raise as these were, again, outstanding.\n\nOverall, a very good lunch with the culinary experience let down by two lapses at the table.\n\nAs for service, an extremely well drilled and attentive team although I do have a couple of gripes. I'm not sure why I was given a steak knife for my monkish? I would also add the lounge at the end of the meal was very hot so a little uncomfortable for some of our party.

Went for lunch on Saturday afternoon.
We had the 2 or 3 course lunch menu which is really good value.
It’s our first visit and we were very impressed.
The venue itself is really nice, the ladies looking after the front of house were lovely and friendly.
Service was very good and the food was excellent. Hot, fresh and tasty.
The coffee was also very good.
A bit of a drive for us but we’ll definitely return.

Small but lovely. The pizzas good with a nice thin sourdough base. There is a good choice and if you don't fancy pizza there is a selection of pasta dishes as well. I'd recommend the lasagne bites, they were really nice. It's a small restaurant which is always busy so you will need to book in advance but if your local to Burscough they also do takeaway as well.

We came from the US to visit friends and had dinner here. Since it’s a Michelin-star restaurant, we expected more.

Service was great very attentive and professional. The food was good, but the portions were very small, and it just didn’t feel memorable to me. Some of our group enjoyed the experience more, but personally I wasn’t impressed.

We visited for the first time last Saturday (27th December). The fact there was seven of us, and it was christmas weekend, we thought there maybe somewhat of a delay, due to how busy the pub was.
This couldn't have been further from the truth. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and showed to our table by one of the team. At the bar, the professional warm attitude co tinted with the young lady behind the bar. Our granddaughter has food allergies, and they were so respectful and helpful with that fact. The food itself was beautiful. Fresh, well presented, and hot.
The young Lady who is pregnant was like a warrior. Im not sure I could have been as helpful. Nothing was too much effort.
We are so pleased we chose his venue for a family meal.
Each and every team member of the Hayfeld were an absolute credit to the pub. Joseph holds brewery will be informed as I believe credit should be given to those whom deserve it.
Keep up the good work guys. You definitely gave new regular customers here. More than happy to travel from Tarleton on a regular basis.

Absolutely love this place ❤️,went here tonight for my friends birthday.The food was exceptional.Quite a few of us had the steak and ale pie.It was that good we thought they had bought them in ,but no,it was the chef who made them on site.I can honestly say it was one of the best pies we have ever tasted.We are definitely coming back in April for my birthday ??xx

We called here for breakfast for the 1st time last Sunday after being let down elsewhere after Southport airshow. Eden had been recommended, and rightly so, it was absolutely delicious, one of the tastiest breakfasts I've ever had! Generous portions of quality ingredients perfectly cooked. The staff were friendly and attentive, and Eden is a lovely setting.
We will definitely be returning, not only for the amazing breakfasts, we would really like to try the Sunday roasts which look the business ?

What a fantastic evening! The staff were welcoming and friendly plus the food was insanely good. The restaurant is beautiful, red brick inside, intimate but not crowed.
We ordered 3 starters to try meat and fish options plus one we would never usually order, all were delicious.
Mains were spinach and ricotta stuffed chicken served with chips and salad plus beef (cooked to your preference) that had a cream and mushroom sauce served with sautéed potatoes and steamed veg, definitely recommend. We ended with a chocolate mousse and apple pie for dessert with coffee.
It was a great time all round and if you’ve read this far I’ll tell you my biggest compliment to the place, not one server came back after serving us to ask if the food was ok, it’s such was a big flex for me….like they know it’s good and they’re not wrong ❤️

Myself and my daughters visited this sweet, homely and welcoming cafe at the edge of Ormskirk Town center today. Brilliant location 1 minute walk from bus station. Ideal for meeting friends amd families and having a break from shopping round town. Clean through out. Staff are friendly, welcoming. Two of us ordered a full breakfast and my other daughter ordered an advocado breakfast .. home made milkshake was ? perfect, and iced coffee was perfect too.. no long waiting for our hot breakfasts to arrive and there was a fair few customers also. Exceeded our expectations. Lovely, enjoyable, will be going again with friends and family for catch up time.

Called in for lunch today, after it popped up a while ago on Facebook. Pleasantly surprised, no booking needed, very friendly owner pointed us to a nice table. Service was timely, attentive without being intrusive. Food was very good. Large menu, large or small plates, with specials as well. Non alcoholic options for drivers and dog friendly. Highly recommended, will definitely take Dave the staffy next time

We love coming here when visiting Ormskirk.. The design of the interior with the wooden barrels for tables makes it very unique. As well as the music themed artwork on the walls. There's always a good selection of ales and largers to choose from and the staff have always been friendly. Highly recommend venue for beer lovers !

We visited Nordico Lounge in Ormskirk as a group of 18 on 13th March, and the experience was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. The team couldn’t have been more helpful or accommodating if they tried. Despite our large group, the service was smooth, friendly, and incredibly well‑organized. The food was amazing — everyone in our party was impressed, and meals arrived together, hot, fresh, and delicious. It’s clear the staff take real pride in what they do, and it made our visit feel extra special. We were made to feel welcome and well looked after throughout, and it truly took the stress out of coordinating such a large gathering. Would definitely recommend Nordico Lounge to anyone looking for great food, fantastic service, and a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!

Great brunch here this morning with my son. The food was tasty and plentiful. We had a slight wait for a table, but the staff were friendly and had us seated and served promptly. The coffee and milkshakes were also a highlight. The food was fresh and tasty. We will definitely be returning. The only complaint would be where our table was situated as people were sat behind us with a dog which I could smell as it had been raining outside.

Went to the Canalside Beer, Pie and Sausage Festival and it was great.
Really well organised with an array of beers and ciders to choose from. The pies and sausage were tasty and just what you need to soak up the alcohol!
Live music in the pub was fun particularly the duo playing Irish songs, exactly the right vibe.
You can sit along the charming canalside with your drinks and food so its a good idea to take chairs or a picnic blanket to sit on.
The pub has two car parks but its so well attended that there were cars parked all along the road so either go early or get a taxi but its well worth a visit.

We were a school reunion group of 13 who have visited the Hesketh Arms before for lunch. The food was good, well presented and hot and the service was excellent too and nothing was too much trouble. We visited Nellie’s Indian Restaurant in Scarisbrick and were completely blown away — everything from the food to the service was exceptional. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and you can tell the team really care about what they do.\n\nEvery dish was full of flavour, beautifully presented, and perfectly cooked. The curries were rich and authentic, the naan bread soft and fresh, and the starters were delicious — you could taste the quality in every bite.\n\nThe staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food and the experience. It’s such a lovely place to relax, enjoy amazing food, and feel properly looked after.\n\nWe honestly can’t recommend Nellie’s enough — it’s easily one of the best Indian restaurants in the area. We’ll definitely be back soon!

If there ia better indian food than this i haven't had it! Bold call but the food here is miles better than the passage to Indian. I have had indian meals from all over the country and this is by far the best i have ever had. They could have upped their prices but they have kept them really reasonable!

I go here a few times a month and i am never let down
