Second time in Calvert’s, and will be the last! Cavernous empty room, dotted with tables, breakfast menu woefully dire, if you like pork no problem, if however you don’t eat it, its a problem. Breakfast menu consists of baps, with combos of egg sausage bacon, no veggie sausages, only an egg bap as veggie choice ,although they did offer me cheese on toast, which strangely is only served from 11 onwards, ( it was 10.45 so I just scraped in) husbands sausage bacon and egg bap wasn’t a bap, filling arrived between two soggy slices of cheap thin white bread ( run out of baps) making it virtually impossible for hubby to pick up his breakfast sandwich as contents tore through bread. My decaf coffee was very good, but poor husbands earl grey tea tasted of hot water, even after stewing.Service friendly and prompt, but Calvert’s reminds me of a works canteen, friends and family of kitchen staff, popping in and out, friendly place, but felt as if we were a bit of an inconvenience, won’t be returning to Calvert’s, but will continue to use creamery cafe next door, ( which now only serves sandwiches and cold food) as have never been disappointed there,

Based inside the Wensleydale Creamery this is surprising good. We both had the set Sunday roast, beef, Yorkshire pudding, roast & mash potatoes, 3 vegetables. All were hot and well cooked. Service was excellent from arrival to departure. Sticky toffee pudding was lovely (if a bit pricy at £6). We booked for 12 midday and it was 70% full. Will definitely return.

Very lovely food and atmosphere. We both had the burger with our own selection of cheese, it was perhaps the best burger we’ve had. It was very affordable and the coffee was great!

I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!! The atmosphere was quiet and welcoming, the decor was cute and subtle and the food was sensational. The coleslaw was herby and creamy, the coffee was rounded and smooth, the chips was perfectly fried, and the burger was one of the best patties I have ever had. The texture was fresh and meaty, it was perfectly cooked, juicy and flavoursome. And the prices were surprisingly reasonable, for the best burger I’ve had in a long time it was cheaper than most other restaurants.

So glad Calvert’s reopened. Had a lovely meal today, everything in mains was piping hot and soup was delicious. Worth the trip for sure.

The service was quick, friendly, and no issues at all. Food came pretty quickly, and we ordered the ultimate Wensleydale Creamery Rarebit, The Wensleydale Sourdough chicken tikka pizza. (See Photo's attached) We certainly got the best out of the creamery. All the food was mouth-watering, and the cheese was spot on. For dessert, we had the cheesecake and fruit scone, again, great food and done properly. The overall price was far cheaper than anticipated, and I would recommend a visit whenever you visit Hawes.Kid-friendliness: There are lots of games around the creamery for kids to play with.Parking: There is plenty of free parking about.Wheelchair accessibility: Access to this building has no steps
