Second time in Calvert’s, and will be the last! Cavernous empty room, dotted with tables, breakfast menu woefully dire, if you like pork no problem, if however you don’t eat it, its a problem. I have visited the restaurant several times over many years & each time the food & service is excellent. Value for money, friendly & professional staff & the food is superb.I would recommend it to anyone & encourage them to try it. Based inside the Wensleydale Creamery this is surprising good. We both had the set Sunday roast, beef, Yorkshire pudding, roast & mash potatoes, 3 vegetables. All were hot and well cooked. Service was excellent from arrival to departure. Sticky toffee pudding was lovely (if a bit pricy at £6). We booked for 12 midday and it was 70% full. Will definitely return.
