We stayed for one night and ate in the restaurant. The food was superb, dinner was amazing and there was a lot of choice for breakfast. I definitely recommend eating there. The room was nicely decorated and the bed was super comfy. What let the hotel down for us was a lack of space to just have a drink in the evening. There was one small area that seated about 8 people that felt more like a waiting room.

My husband booked us a table here for my birthday. The place was recommended to him by many of his friends.The atmosphere was lovely, relaxed and cosy when we arrived, with the log burning stove roaring away in the seating area as you walk in.We also liked the fact, you could see into the kitchen when making your way to the front of the building after parking. The kitchen looked to be very clean which is always a fear I have when dining out.We were served by a very friendly, polite and helpful gentleman who took us to our seats. The table had been set up with a birthday balloon, birthday card and small gift, which was a lovely touch.The food.. Wow.. our table had Lobsters and Steaks. They were absolutely out of this world, they tasted amazing, they smelt amazing. They were cooked to perfection. It was my first time trying Lobster, and it was incredible at this restaurant.If you have the opportunity to visit, I would highly recommend you do. What a wonderful place to be.Thank you for helping my husband make my birthday one to remember. Thank you for such a pleasant experience.(Please note we only Dined, we didn't stay in a room)

A group of eight of us booked the overnight gourmet package to celebrate a friend's 80th. From the minute I contacted the WH, Dee could not have been more helpful and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We all felt very special from the moment we arrived. It was lovely to have coffee by the fire while we all gathered and then David - co-owner and chef extraordinaire - came to meet us and discuss our foodie likes and dislikes so he could design a menu for us for the evening meal. We then had a glass of fizz and some delicious tapas for lunch. Then to our rooms which were all excellent - loved the themes and all the little details. Wine tasting with the brilliant Vincent followed - hugely entertaining and informative - what he doesn't know about wine isn't worth knowing. Dinner was exceptional and the staff were super friendly and efficient. Breakfast the next day was also delicious. All in all a wonderful experience which I would highly recommend and which we will definitely repeat.

We came for lunch. Staff very welcoming and service very professional. Food was delicious, We chose the Fish supper and the Lamb dish. I shared my "posh peas" with my husband and he said he wished he had had some with the Lamb. The apple Panna cotta, which we shared, was superb. A very enjoyable experience.

Had a lovely time. The stand out dishes were actually the starter and dessert as well as the complimentary small dishes. Not to say the mains weren't great ( they were) but it was all the little extras that made it so special. The drink was lovely and a great atmosphere. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. A great time had all round

Delicious food, excellent quality and lovely attentive service. We had lunch from the a la carte menu. Good portion sizes so only managed two courses. Finished with coffee and the lovely chocolate was a sweet surprise.

The food was great, as always. The service wasn't brilliant. We were the last table on Satat 8.15pm and the staff were more interested in clearing and setting up the main restaurant than looking after us and the other remaining table in the fish bar. The service was OK but could have been a lot better especially given service charge is auto added to the bills.

We came as a party of 11 for my Mum's 80th birthday. The WH isn't grand in decor but has a homely feel. The food far exceeds any expectations though. It was an exceptionally delicious and well presented meal from start to finish. Both quantity and quality were superb. Can't fault it. Staff were attentive without being overbearing. A wonderful celebration. If you are in the area, it is a must to visit you won't be disappointed.

We had a lovely night and the food was delicious. Just one thing I think you could offer is that we required a taxi back to Leyburn and I had to stand outside for nearly 30 mins in total trying to book one. Would be nice if that could be part of the service. Thank you Mike and Amanda.

We recently dined at the Heifer for my birthday and had pre ordered a Chateau Briand. When the meat arrived it looked awesome and was cooked perfectly. It tasted delicious and was washed down with a lovely bottle of Shiraz. A big thanks to Head Chef Craig.
