Bar in

“Stumbled on the The Royal Oak whilst staying with friends in the area. Lovely cosy bar. Warm welcome from staff. The owner Steven was friendly and attentive. They were full on a weekday lunch so definitely call ahead as the pub food is excellent.”

“what a great place to go too....it may look a bit tired from outside but the friendliness inside is very warm and welcoming. We had Sunday lunch today and it was a great joy with fresh veg lovely choice of meets in big portions followed by an enormous cheese and biscuits. My wife sticky toffee pudding and custard was nearly a step too far but washed down with excellent beer it was a joyous occasion. If you don't go its your loss as we will be back again on Thursday and everyone who enjoys good honest food and comfort should not miss it ,thank you all at the Blue Ball”

“Located just off the market square we arrived just after lunch on Friday and parked (free) just outside the bar.Bar was excellent with a nice snug with a coal fire lit ? and a couple of real ales on as well as all the usual beverages. We were shown to our room which was in a complex just out the back.Room was faultless.. clean.. quiet, and comfortable. Good range of tea and coffee and biscuits... Nice ensuite. Comfy twin beds.Excellent and highly recommended.Lots of lovely shops and cafés within easy walking distance and the market on Friday and Saturday had excellent top quality stalls selling locally produced items.Malton is indeed the capital of Food in Yorkshire.”

“Neat and well presented accomidation on the first floor. Shared facilities but had no issue with these and the shower and tiowls were clean. No issue with the patrons of what appears to be a very poluar public house. The only issue is that the rooms overlook a loud and busy main road where people exceeding the speedlimit continued late into the night. I would recomend the venue for a mid-week stay but probably not a Friday or Saturday night again.”
