Discovering this hidden gem while peering through a window on the platform, we stumbled upon a breakfast haven before embarking on our unforgettable journey aboard the magnificent North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Had a breakfast here Wednesday morning, really lovely staff, super friendly. Food was excellent, really good portion sizes. Massive mug of coffee included with the breakfast, excellent value for money.

On my most recent visit to Whitby, I found it surprisingly hard to get a good cup of tea, or to find a decent cafe, with good food, at reasonable prices. This well-run family cafe, situated at the front of Whitby train station, was the answer to my prayers. It is clean, friendly, with a great British cafe menu, large mugs of proper tea, and it is very good value. I'll be back for the breakfast next time!
